I recently bought from member Milandro a Dirk Kuiper alto flute. Milandro was very good to deal with. Dirk Kuiper taught the low flute specialist maker Eva Kingma and I remember several photographs of him on Eva's workshop wall. The alto's are very rare. A narrower bore than more modern alto flutes this bore is still used by Eva Kingma and is based I believe on Albert Coopers original design.
This alto is beautifully hand made with several refined features. It is all silverplate but has a dark resonant tone quality I find addictive and so much more satisfying to play than my Pearl. I have previously owned a Solid Muramatsu , a Yamaha and an Armstrong but I think this is my favourite and easily the most complex.
